LE SAVIEZ-VOUS
The guêpière was invented in the 1940s by Alice Cadolle. The idea was to bring back into fashion a more modern and comfortable form of corset by using flexible whalebones and replacing lacing with clips. In 1949, Alice Cadolle's guêpière won the Neiman Marcus Award, being the second French fashion designer to receive this prestigious award.
