Bustier

Since 1889, Maison Cadolle has been crafting corsets and bustiers as a showcase for the female silhouette. Our bustiers combine support and bust sculpting with the finesse of a precious material, worked according to French haute couture methods. Six generations of corset makers perpetuate the "Cadolle touch" here: this unique link between corsetry and couture, passed down from mother to daughter since the invention of the corselet-bra by Herminie Cadolle.

The bustier differs from the corset by its shorter length, focused on the bust, for targeted support that sculpts without constricting the entire torso. Our selection offers bustiers in lace, silk, and satin, from the purest white to the most assertive black, in the Maison's own homemade colors. Each model is designed to fit a specific body type: generous busts, slender waists, or svelte silhouettes will find a tailored solution in this collection.

The bustier holds a special place in the Maison's history: it was in 1947, with couturier Marcel Rochas, that the "guêpière" (waspie) was born, this bustier-waist cincher inspired by the slender waist of a wasp, which has since become a Cadolle signature. Today, the bustier is available both as a lingerie item and as a visible piece, worn under a jacket or alone for an evening, in a spirit that dialogues with haute couture.

This collection caters to various occasions: wedding lingerie, where the lace or silk bustier sculpts the silhouette under the dress; Valentine's Day, where black or red express refined seduction; or simply the pleasure of an exceptional piece worn for oneself. For women seeking a unique creation, custom-made remains the ultimate expression of Cadolle's expertise. Each custom-made piece is crafted in our Parisian workshops, where measurements and successive fittings allow us to adjust the boning, lacing, and cut to the exact body shape of each client.

Choosing and caring for your bustier:

The choice of a bustier depends primarily on the desired support and the occasion. Reinforced boning sculpts and refines the bust for pieces worn in the evening or for a wedding; more flexible lacing prioritizes comfort for extended wear. Taking measurements remains the crucial step: a well-fitted bustier hugs curves without ever compressing, in the tradition of a garment of glamour rather than constraint — a direct heritage of the work undertaken by Poupie Cadolle from 1989 to reinvent the corset.

In terms of care, lace, silk, and satin are delicate materials that require gentle washing, by hand or on a delicate cycle, to preserve their shape and shine. Avoiding wringing and machine drying helps maintain the structure of the bustier over washes.
